Three at last

from One Flew Over by Ensemble Et Au

/

about

The second Et Au Album, Et Au 2 if you will. Et Au is the combination of David Dhonau - Julian Broadhurst and Jim Tetlow. Two Duos, D'juil and Tetlow and Broadhurst respectively - where I'm counted twice - come together. Three friends - Three at Last - came together for the first time in Kornu - a Cornucopia of music in our duos and the Trio. Supposedly a one off event since we've been so rarely together. Recorded at Jim's Studio - we had everything planed and instruments agogo.. This time, I'm just out of Hospital - Jim's coming up to see me,' David and a Cello hitch a lift. So were in my Isabel Studio - three guys on chairs in biggish space - no distractions, plenty of time. it's like old times - Dave and I on Cello and Drum, then Drum and cello - with Jim and I on Drum and Drums. We talk and we play - Time on our hands. It is beautiful outside and in a countryside café. It is beautiful day but there is unspoken tension in the music - a hard driving, complex rhythm. David leads the first part with a ferocious opening. I lead the second, taking over the Cello line and shattering his Classical fluidity, where rhythm subsumes us and leads us..
