[S1] Kornu - Two Long term collaborations, three friends - came together at last. David Dhonau, Cellist Bassist with Composer, Percussionist, Julian Broadhurst as duo D'juil and Keyboardist percussionist, Composer Jim Tetlow [and Julian Broadhurst] as duo Tetlow and Broadhurst. Close friends, differing duos - came together, for the first time, to see if it was possible - as a trio - the 'Ensemble Et Au. '

Ensemble - for the Trio - whilst retaining, the freedom, to fragment back into our respective duos - as we would. Then deriving the name - Et Au' from 'tETlow and dhonAU' - to sound like the Latin phrase 'Et Al' - meaning And All. That is - all coming together as equals. Neither a D'juil nor a T&B project - no one being a guest on the others Duo - a concern with nearly 50 albums between the duos. With me - Julian Broadhurst - then acting as Lynchpin producer.

The Trio recording sessions took place in the afternoon and evening of the 30th of January 2017 at Jim Tetlow's Studio home in Leicester. In the heart of what has become known as the 'Leicester Underground' of New and Experimental music groupings - a family tree of which would fill a book. The duo sessions following on in the next couple of weeks at my Isabel Studio in Derbyshire.

The recordings consist of broad themes and responses - resulting in four Sets [or discs - a Box set or long download] of two related parts each - the themes and the response. The structure was that the Trio would record a shorter 'prelude' - if you like, to which one of the Duos would respond, in a longer fashion, in the manner of that Duo. So the album is a shifting collection of approaches and solutions - hence the Album name - 'Kornu' - from Cornucopia - an embarrassment of riches at over 3 hours of music.

Set A part 1 : Et au - part 2 : D'juil.

Set B part 1 : Et au - part 2 : Tetlow and Broadhurst.

Set C part 1 : Et au - part 2 : Tetlow and Broadhurst.

Set D part 1 : Et Au - part 2 : D'juil.

Tetlow and Broadhurst would release a version of their Set C part 2 as their 18th album 'Improbable live.'

Their performance on Set B part 2 was subsequently released as their 19th album 'Bau - Out' and Both are available separately here as such.

This albums release fell between DCM Projects for Wenninger Broadhurst and Accortumn.
